Overview
CIDEX OPA Solution is a glutaraldehyde-free, high-level disinfectant containing 0.55% ortho-phthalaldehyde. It is used for reprocessing reusable heat-sensitive semi-critical medical devices, such as endoscopic, respiratory therapy and anaesthesia equipment. The solution is ready to use and needs no activation or mixing.
It achieves high-level disinfection in 5 minutes at 20 °C for manual reprocessing, a shorter time than glutaraldehyde, which gives a fast turnaround of reprocessed instruments. The solution can be reused for up to 14 days when it is monitored with CIDEX OPA Solution Test Strips. This product is not a sterilant, so adequate ventilation and appropriate personal protective equipment should be used. Further guidance is in the instructions for use.
