ViSurg Private Limited is an authorised distributor of medical devices and surgical products from manufacturers including Stryker, Johnson & Johnson, ASP, Fresenius Medical Care, Konica Minolta and BSN Medical, supplying hospitals and medical colleges across Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa with sales, installation and after-sales service. The business began in 1979 as Shrikant Agencies in Vijayapura.
History
ViSurg Private Limited is the successor to Shrikant Agencies, established in September 1979 on Gurukul Road, Vijayapura (then Bijapur), Karnataka, by Vishwanath Korachagaon, who brought years of experience in pharmaceutical distribution to the business.
Shrikant Agencies distributed drugs, speciality surgical disposables, narcotics, generic products and chemicals across south India, later extending into Maharashtra and Goa. From surgical instruments, gloves and dressings for hospitals and clinics, the range grew into operating-theatre equipment: laparoscopic cameras, insufflators, xenon and LED light sources, arthroscopic instruments and hysteroscopes.
In 2003 his son, Aditya Korachagaon, joined the company as Manager and is today the first point of contact for hospitals and manufacturers.
The firm became ViSurg Private Limited with the same people, service standards and working practices, and is now an authorised dealer for Stryker India, Johnson & Johnson, ASP, Fresenius Medical Care, Konica Minolta and BSN Medical across Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa, alongside pharmaceutical products. It runs its operations on SAP.
